As the high end of smart phones just keeps getting, higher it is good to know manufacturers and carriers have not forgotten the low and mid range smart phone handsets. Lately ZTE has filled the void of entry level smart phones for the likes of Sprint with handset and tablets. Other carriers have take ZTE’s excellence to their shelves as well with the likes of the At&t Avail and even Virgin mobile is seemingly gearing up for some ZTE hardware. ZTE is well known for making high quality hardware and letting their devices go the ways of the carrier being branded without any reference to themselves. The ZTE Score is not a new phone per say, but it has just branched out to a new carrier.
The ZTE Score was initially launched September of 2011 to the super affordable Cricket carrier. A few months later the ZTE Score is making its way to another budget centric carrier, making its way into the ranks of Metro PCS. So what is the biggest difference? Well an M, of course. While the ZTE Score and ZTE Score M may be identical you unfortunately will not find that super cool muve music application on the Score M. Nonetheless, the Score M is a very decent phone that packs in enough power for most all end users. The ZTE Score M is a low end entry level smart phone that packs in the power of Android version 2.3, also known as Gingerbread. With a simple and effective candy bar form factor the ZTE Score M packs in a 3.5 inch capacitive touch screen that provides a reasonable 480×320 pixel resolution with 165 pixels per inch. Internally the Score M is a bit under clocked compared to the competition. It uses a single core 600 Mhz processor to make all the greatness of Android come together. Internal memory starts at 4 GB and of course can handle up to 32GB with expandable micro SD cards. Around back the Score M did not forget the shooter and packs in a 3.2 mega pixel camera that can indeed record video. Additional connectivity allows for GPS positioning and navigation, Bluetooth version 2.1 and Wi-Fi b/g. And that’s about it. With access to the Android market and a super low price tag of a mere $49 bucks after rebate this new device is surely perfect for those looking to test the Android waters.
