Samsung and their Galaxy devices are back making huge improvements to the ‘non-flagship’ selection, this time with the Blaze 4G. With the Galaxy S III on the back burner, Samsung has take to the streets with a few Galaxy variants for the smart phone shopper that’s not looking for the flagship. Recently with the Galaxy Pocket, the Galaxy Note and now the Galaxy S Blaze 4G. The Blaze name has been tossed around many times with a few different manufacturers in the past, but for one reason or another it never stuck, until now.
Word of the Samsung Galaxy Blaze 4G first broke during CES and it has been waiting in the wings ever since. More recently an official press release from the folks at Tmo has made the dream a reality. Unfortunately however, a time frame was missing from the equation. Monday T-Mobile announced the availability of the new Galaxy S Blaze 4G and further confirmed specs, price and excellence. The Galaxy S Blaze 4G on paper is a solid phone and will most likely prove to be when put to the test. So what can you expect? Well first, a bunch of bloat. But not that horrible (maybe some of it) bloat that you would never use. The Blaze 4G comes with T-Mobile’s 4GPro App pack as it’s called. This set of applications include a TeleNav GPS navigator, Samsung’s Media Hub, an optimized version of Yelp, DropBox, Evernote, Square, Tripit, Camscanner and LinkedIn. While we are surely not proponents of bloat ware you’d have to admit these included apps are seemingly well worth it. But on to the stuff that matters…specs. While the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G is not a Galaxy II, it surely packs in some punch. The Blaze 4G if you could not tell runs with T-Mobile’s faux 4G HSPA+ 42, which means its data speeds are super fast. Built into the seemingly perfect housing of the Blaze 4G is a not to big not to small 3.97 inch touch screen that sports Super AMOLED technologies. Internally Android version 2.3.6 aka Gingerbread will get its go from a dual core Snapdragon S3 chipset that clocks in at 1.5 GHz. Around back you can become the photog you always wanted to be with a 5 mega pixel camera with LED flash and 720p video recording capabilities. An additional 1.3 mega pixel shooter up front is for all that video conferencing you do. And that’s about it as far as specs, but wait we haven’t told you the best part yet. The Galaxy Blaze 4G will only cost you $149.99 after a fifty dollar mail in rebate and a new two year contract. Avilable to select retail locations come March 21st then nationwide come March 28th. You in?
